I submitted a prayer request in December for a breast sonogram I was having the next day. I wasn’t sure if it would be seen and an intercessor assigned in time, but I submitted it anyway, in faith that just by requesting prayer the Lord would act.
The next day I received a message from a beautiful representative of Breakthrough, who reported she had just seen my prayer request and would be interceding for me at the requested time. What a blessing!
I was particularly distressed because it was a 6-month follow-up to a mammogram that I had in the spring of 2010, where abnormalities were seen. I could not get a follow-up sonogram soon after because I discovered I was pregnant. This is my first child and, at 43, a miracle child that I wasn’t sure I would ever be blessed to bear.
When I went in for the follow-up, my assumption was that all was cool and I would not need further tests. The surgeons requested that I have a follow-up sonogram and, as I’m in my 29th week of pregnancy, this really threw me for a loop. I immediately knew I needed to send a prayer request to Breakthrough.
And the final diagnosis: benign cysts! There was no change from what they saw in the spring. I will not need any further follow up tests besides a normal annual mammogram. Hallelujah! What a might, awesome God we serve—regardless of circumstances, He is good! Yet the privilege of worshipping Him and going to Him in our time of need is unsurpassed.
