Do you know what the shortest verse in the Bible is? It's John 11:35, “Jesus wept.” Why did Jesus weep? I always thought it was because He was sorry for Mary and Martha with the loss of their brother Lazarus. But recently I learned that another possible explanation for Jesus’ weeping was because He knew He had to bring Lazarus back from heaven. The authors of recently published books have shared detailed information about visits to heaven (“90 Minutes in Heaven” by Don Piper and “Heaven is so Real” by Todd Burpo are two such publications). Every book that I have read about heaven confirms what is in Scripture, that "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Corinthians 2:9). We all know individuals who have been called home, but we need to focus on their home-going and what a wonderful place they are in now. No more suffering, no more pain, just the joy of the Lord for all eternity. Wow! What a great thought.
We as intercessors see and feel a lot of pain and loss. We are often asked to pray for an individual’s healing, but sometimes the Lord gives the individual His ultimate healing and calls them home. Then what a blessing it is for us to pray for those who are left behind; interceding that the Lord would ease their pain and comfort them in their loss - but rejoicing with them because their loved ones are in a much better place.
What a privilege and honor it is to be part of this ministry and to lift up to the Lord Almighty, the God of the universe, the needs of His people. Thank you all for being part of this ministry and for partnering with us, not only with your prayers but also with your financial support. You will never know what a blessing each of you are to this organization. What a great time we all will have when we are together in that place that “God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Your brother in Christ,
Dave Dittmeier
