Yesterday, I began trying to get back into a real quiet time in the early morning. My directive was, “Nevermind about reading. Spend the time getting in touch with Jesus directly.”
For a couple of days prior to this, the Holy Spirit had dropped a curious clause from Scripture into my mind and heart: “And the government shall be on [Jesus’] shoulder…” (Isaiah 9:6 KJV). I had never thought of this in relation to the government of my life. Suddenly, it spoke volumes to me… the responsibility of my life is now His, the burden He will carry. He will make the decisions, the right decisions. What a relief: what a joy to turn it over to Him.
Yesterday, I mostly just asked Him questions. Knowing that sooner or later, in His time, He will answer them. He well knows my questioning spirit. I don’t think He minds that.
Having posed my questions, I left them there, in His hands… and felt a sweet peace flow into my spirit.
A while ago, I was told to refrain from criticism for one month, a fast of the tongue. Now I am directed to extend this curbing of my faultfinding into the thought area.
The Spirit reminded me of Jesus’ words, “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Clearly then, Jesus recognized the evil all around us in our daily walk. Simply, for the time being, I am not to let my mind dwell there. The Sprit also showed me that the tidiness of my possessions and papers has a direct bearing my peace on the inside. Rather than let this chore weigh on me as an added pressure, though, I am to let Him direct me when to undertake straightening up my things.
Is something on your heart?
Six intercessors will pray for your request for 21 days.
